Website Grader

Thursday, October 04 2007

Just came across this cool little utility called Website Grader a little bit ago. It's a free online service that analyzes a given web site and provides an SEO score along with some other metrics.

Naturally I had it analyze both my blog site and the CodeKeep site and found that the most interesting item between the two was a metric called Readability Level. For the CodeKeep site the Readability Level is listed as Advanced Degree (PhD) and for my blog it's listed as, um, 8th Grade.

I'll leave the jokes to you.

Dave,

I think 8th grade is supposed to be the pinnacle of readability. Higher, and you risk being over your audiences' heads, lower, and you risk not communicating well enough.
