That title get your attention? I thought it might. So get this. I'm browsing the AllPosters web site and am checking out the stuff they have for the Star Wars movies (duh). I notice on the left is a section titled "Star Wars Specialty Products" with a link to "Star Wars (Giant Wall Decals)". I click it and see images of various Star Wars characters in all their life-size glory. Naturally I want to get a better view of the ultimate villain himself Darth Vader, and when I click on his image, I see this:
I couldn't have made that up if I wanted to. How in the world does a poster of '80s icon Boy George get listed as another product recommendation with Darth Vader? And not only that, Boy George apparently commands top billing as he's listed first in the recommendation list!
So if I understand this right, AllPosters is telling me that the person who gave the world "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?" and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya" (that's right, with the number 4, not For) is a similar match to a lightsaber-wielding, throat-choking-without-actually-touching-the-person, half-machine-all-dressed-in-black-with-cool-breathing-sound-effects badass? Somehow, I don't see the similarities. I mean, in terms of gender, yes, they are considered to both be males, but that's as far as the similarities go (although I think for several years, and probably still today, many people questioned whether Boy George was actually a boy, even though it's specifically in his name).
So just to calm myself, I'm now listening to the entire original Star Wars soundtrack recordings by the London Symphony Orchestra, in order from the beginning of A New Hope, through The Empire Strikes Back, all the way to the end of The Return of the Jedi. And yes, I can actually picture every scene in the movies as I listen to the soundtracks.
