CodeMash Recap and Slides

Sunday, January 13 2008

Once again, CodeMash rocked. I was only able to be there for Day 2, but I thoroughly enjoyed every second. I got to see a whole bunch of people I haven't seen in a while, and it seemed like every 5 feet I ran into someone else to chat with. In only its second year, CodeMash has already solidified itself as a must-attend show. There is simply no other conference that brings together such a wide variety of topics, speakers, and attendees. And having it at the Kalahari Resort doesn't hurt either because many people bring their families and turn it into a long weekend getaway.

Many thanks to the entire CodeMash crew (you know who you are). You guys pulled off a heckuva conference with ~330 attendees, and I appreciate being given the opportunity to come and speak again.

For those interested in the slides and demos for my "RESTful Web Services" talk, you can download it here. I think they'll be uploaded to the CodeMash site soon, but I figured I might as well make them available now. The demos require Access 2003 to run (not Access 2007 like I misstated in my talk), so if you've got that (and VS 2005), simply change the location of the Northwind.mdb database in web.config and you're good to go.

It was great talking to you before your session and I really enjoyed your talk on RESTful Web Services.

Ammended my notes on your talk, bummed I couldn't catch up with you but the REST stuff was cool. Now it's just a battle for "hearts and minds" at work...

I don't know if it's on the "low low" but how does REST fit in with Community Server?
