Jim Holmes made the official announcement tonight about the lineup for the CodeMash 2009 Precompiler Event, which occurs on Jan. 7, the day before the "official" conference. The Precompiler Event is optional, but my goodness, look at what's going on:
- There's an all day code jam where you can sling code to your heart's content against pre-built VMs.
- Joe O'Brien and Jim Weirich are doing a day-long session on Ruby.
- Josh Holmes and Jeff Blankenburg are doing a day-long session on .NET.
- Chris Judd and Jim Shingler are doing a day-long session on Java.
- Dave Laribee is doing a half-day session on Kanban.
- Leon Gersing is doing a half-day session on TDD.
- And yours truly is doing a half-day session on how to steer a company into agile ways of thinking :-)
The Precompiler Event is an extra fee, but apparently it's going to be well under $100, which is nuts given the people and topics in this lineup. I know many conferences have pre-con stuff going on, but I've never heard of one with this type of offering. If you're going to CodeMash, I'd seriously consider going a day early.
And I'm really, really hoping my half-day session doesn't overlap with Laribee's (hint, hint to the CodeMash organizers, hehe).

Whiner. OK, I'll make sure your session doesn't overlap with Laribee's Kanban.
(It was going to be after yours anyway.)
I'd like to second the no-overlap request :)
Once again, the CodeMash conference delivered as promised. This was the biggest CodeMash yet, and even though it's only in its 3rd year, it's already become a can't-miss conference. And from what I could tell, the precompiler workshops were a big hit
